Emily Potter Elite Basketball Camp

The Emily Potter Elite Basketball Camp is an exclusive, invite-only event for top female basketball players in Manitoba. It’s a high-performance, holistic training experience designed to elevate the skills of the next generation of female athletes. The camp blends top-tier basketball training with important life skills, such as mental performance coaching, yoga, team building, and community outreach. Why This Camp Was Created?

This is a camp that would be a dream for myself as a high schooler. As these top athletes transition into their later years of high school, and then university basketball or wherever life takes them, they can utilize skills developed with Emily Potter Elite, including the many off-court teachings. Spending hours on the court is not the only way to become a great athlete. The mental performance side of training plays a huge role, so does nutrition, and balance with outside activities other than playing basketball. That is what the Emily Potter Elite Camp is about; the athlete as a whole person.

I was fortunate to experience great coaching and informational sessions during my youth through my involvement with the national team program in the 16u and 17u age categories. These teachings and practices should not be limited to only national team athletes, but all athletes across the country. I am bringing my knowledge to the young women in my home province with the hope to set them up for future success. These young girls deserve to have all the tools taught to them before they graduate high school so that they can feel better equipped for their next steps.

A key pillar to this camp is the community event at the end of the week. The camp is free for athletes, and their way to pay it forward is to spend time encouraging and inspiring the next generation of young girls in sport. The community event was implemented to give younger girls more role models to look up to that are in their very own communities. Seeing girls of all ages learning and playing together at the end of the week is truly what sport is fundamentally all about. Having fun, meeting new people, and moving our bodies.
